My name is Gerald Casper.
I was born and grew up in Oregon. I graduated high school from Wallowa High School in Wallowa OR. I received my Bachelors Degree in Math Education from Oregon State University in 1989 and started teaching 6th - 8th grade math at South Sherman Elementary in 1990. I continued my education and earned my Masters of Teaching degree with an emphasis in mathematics from Eastern Oregon State College in 1993. I started teaching math classes at SJSHS in 2003 when the school district included the 7th and 8th graders as part of the school. I am currently teaching MS Math 7, Geometry, and am the technology assistant helping with computer set up, trouble shooting, and online studies. |
I have four children. Terran, Shaun, and Garak who graduated from SJSHS in 2012 ,2013, and 2016, and Kiersten is a student at SJSHS. Picture taken in 2004 I married my wife Betsy in 2010.
Betsy has a math degree from the University of Alaska Fairbanks and has substituted in my class when I was gone. She is now employed at Sherman County School as an Instructional Assistant. |
